Ràme Ring

by the branches of prosecco

Ylenia Deriu is a jewelry and accessory designer. She finds inspiration in the morphological complexity of nature and the rationality of industrial production. She has a passion for brass, wood, fabric and anything that can be molded, cut, sewn or welded. She experiences a close -at times almost obsessive-bond with the material that transforms her pieces into highly evocative and personal jewelry and accessories. Her works has been exhibited in museums and shows internationally.

The ring is made by the branches of Prosecco Superiore. Ràme is dialect name for branches and it means also copper, used to make the ring. Copper has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic healing properties. The practice of wearing copper bracelets on the wrist and rings was introduced by the Chaldeans about 6000 years B.C. to counter rheumatism and prevent infections.
